“Before starting with Welcome Wellness, I was really struggling with yo-yo dieting and exercise programs, fluctuating between binge and restrictive eating, dealing with body dysmorphia and very low self-esteem. I have had a long history with eating disorders, and seen multiple therapists, but thought I would try something new. Through working with Sam, I was able to unlearn many of the things that I had come to just accept as my reality. I was able to improve my all-or-nothing thinking when it came to eating and exercise, stop my restrictive and binge eating behaviours, reduce negative self-talk, build healthy habits, and improve the way I look at myself. Sam has a fantastic way of asking all the right questions, pushing you to dig deep into your emotions and what has got you to the place you’re in, along with how to get out of it. This program was an emotional roller coaster but it has truly changed my life. Since working with Sam, I have regained a love for moving my body to maintain good health vs. focusing strictly on making my body look a certain way, I have been able to enjoy eating again without it being a stressful experience, I can look in the mirror without focusing solely on an area I dislike, I am able to go out without thinking people are judging me, and overall have been living a much higher quality life.
